-If a man uses a gun and shoots someone they go to jail where they are surrounded by guards with guns. Now I understand the idea of safety, but doesn't having them surrounded by guns just reinforce the point that a gun equals power. What if we took those same cells, and instead of building them out of concrete and steel we actually placed them in hardened clay cells with hard wooden bars. The floors of their cells could be grass and they are free to walk around barefoot and work on their gardens all day.

Haha, that would be the life wouldn't it...

I don't have time to haggle over smokes today, Rocco. I'm much to busy whittling my new flute out of sandalwood.

-How about instead of reality television shows, we made it so people could just watch themselves for an hour. You could tune in once a week and just watch yourself sitting there, watching the television which features a reality Television show where someone dressed like you goes out and does all the things you could be doing with your time instead.

We could name it ’Dali-Squared...”

-Would you rather the driver behind you be someone who’s drunk or stoned? Now it’s a general question directed at people who understand what marijuana is. For those people that believe news reports about folks going crazy after inhaling some of the old Mary Jane, I’m afraid you may have lost your fragile grip on reality and need to start tilling your gardens immediately for an environmental reality check.

-What if cancer is completely environmental. For years we learned the morals of stories were that you became what you acted like. I look at the world and see it being torn down, stripped, and hollowed out. If you were the Earth, how would you feel about us? Is it possible that this plague arises because of the way in which we treat the Earth? If the world is your ashtray, then you will cease to one day breathe it’s sweet air. It’s utterly poetic in the final sense. If you go out and ravage the world, the world will one day ravage you.

People are trying to figure out where things like bird-flu and Ebola come from… and I think the Earth has a self defense mechanism, an immune system. You have tornados and earthquakes, you have plagues, famines, and tsunamis. Science can sit there and explain action and reaction, currents and convections… but really it’s just one great big blue ball of Karma that we live on.

When faced with the question of humankind’s greatest achievement, I find little alternative to it being anything but the advent of language. A language used to filter thought. It’s another tool that gets taken for granted in this age. Words can give you so many things, they are the medium on which all common grounds are established. I sometimes think a lazy person was inspired to write down the first word, as to define it. On the other hand, it could have been a very pretentious human being. It may have perhaps even been a forward thinking human being who may have embraced the grand design of what documenting the word would eventually become. I highly doubt it, but of course anything is possible.

When, in this world, things began to be orally spoken… at the very dawn of humankind‘s ‘speed of thought’ type speech; There was something that was lost I feel, something I can’t quite put my finger on. It’s like having the ability to anticipate someone else’s actions completely free of any and all paranoia. Were we more able to communicate our emotion as ‘thinking’ beings, rather than ‘civilized’ beings? To be civilized by today’s standards often means to read as educated and cultured. To the thinking beings though, I find only accepted wisdom. That is wisdom which is accepted internally through the process of thinking. One’s intent is to relate with others, while the other suggests relating to one’s self.

If the first human beings on this earth didn’t communicate through speech, and we have all this brain power to spare… isn’t it possible that people used to communicate through thinking. It could also be theorized that due to speech, we’ve replaced our most common thread between each of us… the thought exchanged for the word. What if emotions alone were used to communicate? We’re so highly sensitive to each other as people to begin with, but think of how much easier the world would be if everyone could feel each other’s emotion. You can’t hide emotion from yourself, it’s the core of your being, the battery for the mind and body. If we think in terms of someone else feeling the truth of your emotion, you’d develop a more clearer understanding of the person. The process of establishing truth would be entirely immediate and self-evident.

We get so caught up in speech, we make it into this solemn right and freedom. We treat speech as an extension of our mind and thoughts. The vocabulary has become a sort of civilized measure of the mind. I tend to think that speech is a much more lazy form of communication. It’s tools of habit, to say your words, to have representation for your emotion. I think somewhere along the line we actually de-evolved from that heightened state of living with a pure awareness of ourselves and each other. It’s still evident in the bonds we share. It’s hidden in all those subtle moments of deja-vu and gut reactions. It’s how sometimes you just know something without really being able to explain why. That little wavelength which we stopped tuning into for a more convenient way to connect.

I just finished watching Red Eye and it was quite good, a nice little thriller. I liked it much more than Flightplan with Jodie Foster. Rachel McAdams kicks some serious ass in there. I was sitting there thinking at the start, "great another movie where a man threatens a women who cries through the whole thing," but then she totally kicks his ass through out the film, I was happily surprised.
